Precautionary checks are to be carried out on Boeing 747 100/200 wiring conduits to see if there is any chafing on wiring leading to fuel-boost pumps, says a US Federal Aviation Administration alert services bulletin. The bulletin specifies checks within 120 days. The agency confirms that the measure is a precaution in the light of the Trans World Airlines Flight 800 accident investigation.
