India's Jet Airways could be in the market for both narrowbodies and regional jets in 2010 as part of a fleet renewal plan for its Jetlite subsidiary.
"Jetlite's aircraft are old and increasingly very expensive to operate. We would like to start a fleet renewal plan for Jetlite in 2010," Jet Airways chief commercial officer Sudheer Raghavan said at Asian Aerospace.
According to Flightglobal's ACAS database, Jetlite operates a fleet of seven Boeing 737-700s, seven Boeing 737-800s, two Bombardier CRJ200ERs and three Bombardier CRJ200LRs.
Jet Airways bought Sahara Airlines in April 2007 and rebranded it as Jetlite. It operates Jetlite as a low fare domestic carrier.
