The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has, as predicted, dropped the 1 December implementation date for its Private Charter Standard Security Program (PCSSP). The move delays the introduction of airline-like security measures for ad hoc charter operators of aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 43,000kg (95,000lb). The TSA says it will provide at least 30 days' notice of the contents of the final rule before compliance is required. The final rule is expected to increase the MTOW criterion to 44,000kg and possibly exempt the Bombardier Global Express. Last month the TSA delayed the deadline for air taxi operators to comply with its Twelve-Five Standard Security Program to1 February.
