Aeroflot is calling for foreign ownership caps to be put in place before the long-awaited privatisation of the Russian flag carrier. The Russian government has included carriers KrasAir and Domodedovo Airlines (DAL) along with Aeroflot on the list of state-controlled enterprises due for privatisation in 2005. The three are joint-stock companies with private investment currently between 15% and 30%, and with the government holding controlling shares. Aeroflot general director Valery Okulov says he is against any government stock sale before a law setting the upper limit for foreign holdings in major Russian carriers is in place.
