VoltAero has signed up Tennessee-based AltiSky to assemble its Cassio hybrid-electric aircraft for the North American market.
Detailed in a memorandum of understanding, the agreement will see AltiSky construct a 2,800sq m (30,000sq ft) final assembly facility with an adjoining delivery centre and simulator-equipped training complex in the USA.
AltiSky will also establish a network of regional maintenance facilities, supporting its distribution of the Cassio family across Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, and the USA.
Earlier this month, VoltAero inaugurated its primary final assembly facility and new headquarters at Rochefort airport in western France, sized to produce 150 Cassio aircraft annually at full rate.
The Cassio aircraft family will consist of three versions that seat from five to 12 people, beginning with the Cassio 330, which is scheduled to enter service in 2026.
