Pan-African low-cost carrier Fastjet has selected Romania’s Aerostar for C-check maintenance on two Airbus A319s.
Work on the first aircraft was completed on 13 March, and the second arrived at Aerostar’s Bacau hangar the next day, says the MRO provider.
Aerostar, which also manufactures aerostructures, is aiming to expand its MRO business with African customers. Royal Air Maroc has used Aerostar for base checks on its Boeing 737s since 2010, while Ghana’s Starbow Airlines started to send BAe 146 regional jets to Bacau in 2013 and will contract more work this year, says Aerostar.
The MRO provider also serviced two Avro RJ100s on behalf of regional aircraft leasing specialist Falko in 2013. These were thereafter deployed by Air Libya.
Fastjet operates three CFM International CFM56-powered A319s, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.
