Direct scheduled services between Gambia and the UK have been reinstated after a 15-year break. Start up RedAir launched a twice-weekly Banjul-London Gatwick DC-10-30 service last month, with return flights also serving Freetown, Sierra Leone. Last month also saw the launch of AfricaOne in Uganda, which will operate one DC-10 and three DC-9s from Entebbe to Lagos and Dubai. The local airline sector has been hit by the collapse of Uganda Airlines and SA Alliance Air.
