Italian companies AgustaWestland and Versace have joined forces to design, develop and produce exclusive interiors across the airframer’s helicopter range.
An A109 Grand is the first helicopter to be outfitted and is scheduled for delivery to its unnamed owner next month.
This is the second foray into the business aviation arena for Versace, which linked up with Swiss business aviation services provider TAG Aviation last July to design interiors for business jets.
Versace chief executive Giancarlo Di Risio says: “interior design for helicopters is a natural extension within the Versace world following our recent announced luxury resorts, private jets, exclusive cars that represent our house’s unique style and design. AgustaWestland is the ideal ambassador to develop this new project fore fronting the highest level of excellence and expertise in its sector”.
Versace will supervise the research, creative development and production of the interior specifications of the helicopters. AgustaWestland will oversee all technical and regulatory issues. “The goal is to achieve the ultimate in luxury and elegance while at the same time creating functional space”, adds Di Risio.
