Air France says it will become the first European carrier to put the Airbus A380 into service in April 2007 on transatlantic services to New York and Montreal. It will take four aircraft out of its order for 10 in the second quarter of 2007 and will subsequently fly the ultra-large airliner to Tokyo and Beijing in 2008. Singapore Airlines is scheduled to become the first carrier to put the aircraft into service in April 2006 on its Singapore to London Heathrow route.
