A class action lawsuit against Air Transat over the airline's culpability for a maintenance mistake that led to an Airbus A330 losing fuel during a 2001 transatlantic flight between Lisbon and Toronto could be resolved in April if a Canadian court approved a C$7.65 million ($6.17 million) deal agreed last week. The deal has been brokered by the Canadian airline's insurers and lawyers for 175 of the 293 passengers aboard flight 236, which landed in the Azores on 24 August after gliding without fuel for nearly 20min. Air Transat's deal does not cover the remaining 118 passengers that agreed our-of-court settlements with the carrier.
