Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia posted a 130.1 million ringgit ($38 million) net profit for the three months ending 30 September thanks to an increase in revenues.
Net profit for the fiscal third quarter was 130.1 million ringgit compared to a net loss of 465.5 million ringgit the same period last year, AirAsia tells the Malaysian stock exchange.
Revenue rose 4% to 739.7 million ringgit from 708.0 million ringgit.
AirAsia says its Malaysian, Thai and Indonesian operations had 5.9 million passengers during the period, a year-on-year increase of 24% and that it also experienced a substantial increase in ancillary revenues.
