Rockwell Collins and Airbus have agreed to jointly develop technical specifications for the Aircraft Information Network System (AINS) to be installed on Airbus A340-500/600 route proving aircraft. Collins will be the first AINS supplier certificated on A340-500/ 600s from early 2002. The company will provide the infrastructure for high-speed data links to support flight crew, cabin crew, passenger and maintenance communications.
