Airbus booked undisclosed orders for 150 A320-family jets during June, sourced from two separate deals.
The airframer recorded the acquisition of 70 A320neo aircraft as well as an 80-jet order comprising 30 A321neos, 16 A320neos and four A319neos plus 20 A321s and 10 A320s.
While Airbus has not identified the customers, China Eastern Airlines stated in February that it intended to take 70 A320neos while China Southern Airlines revealed an agreement to take 50 A320neos and 30 baseline A320s in May.
The new deals bring overall orders for the A320neo line to 2,843.
These accounted for the majority of the 209 A320-family orders booked by Airbus during the month.
A deal for 21 A320neos from Qantas and orders from Air New Zealand, Aerospace International Group and Synergy Aerospace made up the balance.
No long-haul orders were booked during June.
Airbus’s net orders over the first half reached 290 after cancellations. The airframer delivered 55 aircraft in June, bringing the half-year total to 303 compared with 295 over the first six months of 2013.
