Airbus is edging towards a record year for net orders, after it ended November with a total of 1,314 – barely 100 short of its all-time high.
The airframer secured 1,419 net orders in 2011, a performance driven by the launch of its A320neo.
Its order books for November were lifted by Etihad Airways’ firming of 87 jets, a deal disclosed during the Dubai air show.
But Emirates’ agreement for 50 A380s has yet to feature in the Airbus backlog.
Airbus has identified European leasing company Aerospace International Group as a customer for 14 baseline A320-family aircraft – including 10 A320s and four A321s.
The airframer has revised its firm order total for the A320neo to 2,523.
Airbus delivered 562 aircraft over the first 11 months of the year, including 22 A380s, compared with 516 at the same point in 2012.
Gross orders to the end of November reached 1,373 – more than doubling the original target for the year.
