Airbus has extended the revision of the A350 minimum equipment list while it works to resolve a technical issue centred on hydraulic pump overheating risks.
The A350 had been subject to an emergency airworthiness directive in August after analysis concluded that an overheating engine-driven pump could potentially ignite fuel in the aircraft's tanks if the inerting system was not operating.
Airbus has again revised the master minimum equipment list for the type, in order to avoid an uncontrolled overheating event, following further investigation.
The European Aviation Safety Agency states that the 6 September revision expands the number of restricted items on this list.
EASA requires operators to implement the revision within 30 days, adding that the directive remains an interim measure.
