Air China has agreed to take three of the six A340s ordered by the CAAC in 1993 for China Southern without the carrier's consent. China Eastern, which is already an Airbus operator, may take the other three A340s. Beijing has also cleared another Airbus dispute by allowing Sichuan Airlines to accept the first of three A320s after a delay over political and regulatory concerns.
