Aircraft interiors EXPO: Integra’s role inoxygen supply

Sweden’s GCE Aviation is highlighting its Integra – a portable oxygen cylinder assembly.

The cylinders have been designed to be interchangeable with the existing portable cylinder assemblies fitted to aircraft today, making retro-fit available.  It also removes the need for replacement brackets and thereby negating the added cost and disruption. Thomas Cook is the first airline to make use of the retro-fit available.

Business manager Jon Zinopoulos is keen to highlight the weight savings on the new cylinders. He  says that airlines are taking extraordinary steps to reduce weight, but fail to consider the portable oxygen cylinder. “Thomas Cook has benefited from a fleet saving of 780kg (1,720lb)” Integra saves around 50 percent against steel cylinders due to use of composites.  They also only require a hydrostatic test every five years coinciding with the regulator overhaul date.
