UK charter carrier Leisure International Airways has ordered four Airbus A321-200s with deliveries scheduled to start in the first quarter of 1997.

Comair has increased orders for Canadair Regional Jets from 45 to 50. The Delta Connection carrier also secured five more options for a total of 25. Argentinian airline Pampas Air is to lease four RJs in July.

China Airlines has ordered four Boeing 747-400s and taken four options. The aircraft will be powered by PW4000 engines. Deliveries start in May 1997 and continue through 2002.

Nouakchott based Air Mauritanie it to replace its Fokker F28s with two ATR42s.

The Air Canada Connector Air Alliance has ordered five Beech 1900Ds, with options for five additional aircraft. Deliveries will commence in June and continue through September.

Lufthansa is to lease two A300-600Rs, one from Lufthansa Leasing and one from ILFC. The aircraft will be powered by CF6-80C engines and delivered to Lufthansa in early 1997. Aeroflot has added four A310-300s, powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000s, to its long range fleet.

EVA Air is to buy four new McDonnell Douglas MD-90s in cooperation with its domestic partner carriers, UNI Air (formerly Makung Airlines) and Great China Airlines. The first will be delivered to Great China Airlines in March 1997, two will go to EVA Air in April and July 1997, and the fourth to UNI Air in January 1998.

Korean Air has become the first customer for the A330-200 with an order for two, scheduled for delivery in August and September 1998. The aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000s.

Virgin Atlantic is to lease two more A340-300s from Airbus Industrie, scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 1997.

Japan Airlines has chosen Pratt & Whitney PW4090 engines for the five Boeing 777-300s that are due to enter in service in 1998.

Turkish charter carrier Holiday Airlines has leased a A300B4-100 from Citicorp Aircraft Management.

The St Louis-based Boatmen's National Bank has leased a McDonnell Douglas MD-11F to Federal Express.

Alaska Airlines has leased a Boeing 737-4S3 from Diamond Lease of Tokyo.
