Continuing a busy week for Supernal, the US air taxi developer on 23 July launched a partnership with Luxaviation Group’s Sigma Air Mobility to identify markets ripe for advanced aircraft infrastructure.
The companies will explore potential electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) markets in Southeast Asia and Southern Europe, with Sigma planning to operate Supernal’s in-development S-A2 air taxi and develop vertiport infrastructure in those regions.
The partnership will leverage Luxaviation’s position as ”one of the largest business aircraft, helicopter and private aviation terminal operators worldwide”, in addition to the broad expertise of Hyundai Motor Group, which owns Supernal.
The deal comes on the heels of Supernal disclosing at Farnborough air show that GKN Aerospace has delivered the carbon-fibre composite wing assembly for Supernal’s first eVTOL demonstrator, with plans to deliver the experimental aircraft’s booms by the end of the month.
