China Eastern Airlines saw its third-quarter operating profit rising by 9.7% to CNY3.24 billion ($459 million).
Revenue for the July-September quarter rose 3.5% to CNY34.6 billion, while operating expenses grew by a similar percentage to CNY25.5 billion.
Net profit for the Shanghai-based carrier was up 8.8% to CNY2.65 billion.
Cash and cash equivalents as of 30 September stood at CNY4.53 billion, up from the CNY3.75 billion it had on the same date in 2018.
For the nine-month period to 30 September, operating profit declined 4.1% to CNY5.52 billion.
Revenue amounted to CNY93.4 billion, up 6.3%. Operating expenses saw a higher growth of 7.2% to CNY79.8 billion. Net profit fell 3.2% to CNY4.78 billion.
The Shanghai-based carrier did not provide a discussion for the results.
