Kenya Airways has disclosed that the head of its Jambo Jet regional division, Allan Kilavuka, is to take over temporarily as chief executive of the flag-carrier.
Kilavuka only stepped into the top post at Jambo Jet at the beginning of this year. He was formerly with General Electric.
Kenya Airways says Kilavuka will serve as acting chief until a “substantive” successor has been appointed, following the departure of Sebastian Mikosz.
He will remain as the head of Jambo Jet in the meantime.
Kenya Airways says it initiated a recruitment process for Mikosz’s replacement when he stated he would be stepping down at the end of this year.
But it states that this process is “still actively ongoing” and that the board will inform stakeholders once a suitable candidate is identified.
