Binter has five of the twinjets – powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1900G engines – on order.
The aircraft (EC-NEZ) is configured with a single-class layout of 132 seats.
Binter will use the E195-E2 across a network which includes eight Canary Islands locations, nine destinations in Africa and two in Portugal.
The airline already operates ATR turboprops and Bombardier CRJ1000s.
President Pedro Agustin del Castillo describes the introduction of the E2 as an “important step” in the carrier’s development, which will support improved inter-island and external connectivity.
Swiss operator Helvetic Airways and Norwegian regional carrier Wideroe have already received the smaller E190-E2 version of the aircraft.
KLM Cityhopper also has the E195-E2 variant on order.
