As Cirrus Design expands its presence in the market its appeal as a partner grows, and the company confirmed at the show that it is monitoring potential new engines and avionics.

L-3 Avionics Systems has installed its new SmartDeck flat panel display in an SR22, which has brought promising results.

"They want to be in the market," says Cirrus. "They're pushing their own product and they're building on our platform."

The touch pad panel was installed at L-3's Grand Rapids Michigan plant, and it is not alone in the avionics field. "Garmin has one of our planes on display here with a Garmin in it," says Cirrus.

"People are certainly interested in showing their wares to us, such as Thielert Aircraft Engines in Germany. We're watching their progress closely."
