Eight European carriers have written to the European Commission (EC) complaining that Alitalia is failing to meet the conditions attached to its €400 million ($535 million) bridging loan and is causing "severe damage to competitors". The eight carriers, British Airways, Lufthansa, Iberia, Austrian Airlines, SAS, Finnair, TAP and Hapag-Lloyd, are complaining about new capacity and "aggressive" pricing. The eight carriers also wrote a letter to the EC last year complaining about the loan.
