Mexico's Interjet has reaffirmed its commitment to the Sukhoi Superjet through deals to extend its commitments to the Russian 100-seater along with a maintenance support contract with engine maker PowerJet.
The deal with SSJ100 marketing arm SuperJet International (SJI) was announced during the ALTA Airline Leaders Forum in Panama City. It covers the addition of 10 options to the airline's existing contract for 20 firm orders. In parallel, Interjet has signed a "by the hour" maintenance deal with PowerJet covering 40 SaM146 engines. A letter of intent has also been signed for the purchase of additional spare engines.
SSJ100 deliveries to Interjet are due to start in March 2013, and its first aircraft is now at SJI's Venice facility undergoing cabin furnishing.
"The new agreement confirms the solid relationship we have with Interjet," says SJI chief executive Nazario Cauceglia. "We are confident these 10 options will be converted into firm orders."
