Alteon Training has selected Thales to provide training equipment for the Boeing 787. It has ordered six suites of training equipment to be installed at key locations around Alteon's global network of training centres. Each suite will consist of a FAA Level D type full flight simulator, two brief/debrief stations, a virtual flight training device and other training equipment. The first equipment will be installed during 2007. Thales will also provide a simulator to assist with Boeing's engineering development of the 787. Alteon, a Boeing subsidiary, will be Boeing's provider of 787 training. The company is aimed to further expand its strategic relationship with airlines to provide local training solutions. Its latest deal, signed just prior to the show, will see it place a 737 Next Generation full flight simulator and flat panel trainer in Aeromexico's training centre at Mexico City International Airport. The company, which has 20 training locations around the globe, is looking to add centres in India, the Middle East and Africa, says president Pat Gaines.
