Elbit has signed the contract to develop mission avionics for the Brazilian air force Embraer ALX light attack aircraft, and will begin to supply the systems in 1998 (Flight International, 1-7 January). The Israeli avionics manufacturer will supply a suite including a central computer, multi-function liquid crystal displays, head-up displays and a navigation and armament control system. Delivery of the 100 aircraft on order is to begin in 1999.
