Ameco Beijing has been approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to perform MRO works on the Boeing 787-9.
The approval by the Chinese regulator allows the MRO firm to conduct line maintenance, scheduled checks, modifications, as well as engine and auxiliary power unit changes on the -9, says Ameco.
At the same time, Ameco has also secured approval by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct line maintenance on the 787.
The company began maintaining Air China’s -9 on 26 May, the first of the variant in China. The flag carrier plans to induct seven -9s this year.
Ameco has been maintaining the 787 since 2014. To date, it has five customers for 787 maintenance.
