Ametek Aerospace and Defense has developed a combined total temperature/ total pressure probe (T2P2) with pressure transducer for the new FJ44-3 turbofan engine from Williams International.
The T2P2 probe is certified for temperatures ranging from -85¡C to 125¡C, vibration to 8000Hz and the latest icing condition requirements.
Its internal temperature sensor die is lighter, more reliable and more responsive than old-fashion wire wound types.
Pilots will benefit from the advanced engine diagnostics and monitoring capabilities of the FJ44-3's new full authority digital electronic control (FADEC).
Wes Hardin, vice-president and general manager of Ametek, says: "It is the first FAA-certified engine of less than 6,400lb thrust to incorporate a dual channel full authority digital engine controls."
