The US Air Force has divided the $300 million in advanced medium-range air- to-air missile (AMRAAM) production contracts between Raytheon and Hughes Missile Systems. Raytheon was awarded $141 million to build 623 missiles, while Hughes received $160 million for production of 674 missiles. The majority of both firms' production will be of missiles destined for export.
