Thai Airways has appointed several new executive vice presidents, including Bhisit Kuslasayanon for commercial service, Payoon Puakpong for customer service, Saad Sobsatrasorn for operations, and Amnuay Chanya for finance and information. Meanwhile Sittipong Thanitayawong is the new senior vice president responsible for corporate planning and government relations.

Frederick Reid has been appointed head of marketing and network management for Lufthansa's passenger airlines business unit, while Stefan Pichler will be responsible for sales, Karl-Friedrich Rausch for the product and service division, and Carl Sigel for operations. Karl-Heinz Köpfle becomes managing director of Lufthansa CityLine in April.

Carl Michel was appointed chief executive of Deutsche BA in April, taking over from Wolfgang Grund who is to lead DBA's supervisory board.

James R Phillips has been promoted to vice president-general manager of the MD-95 programme at McDonnell Douglas' aircraft division.

British Airways has named David Noyes as regional director UK/Africa and the Middle East, succeeding George Cooper, who is now regional director Europe.

Nashir Mallam-Hasham has taken over as chairman and managing director of Air Mauritius from Sir Harry Tirvengadum, the new director general of Air Afrique.

The International Civil Aviation Organisation has appointed Renato Claudio Costa Pereira as its new secretary general.
