Cessna has been awarded a contract worth more than $10.8 million to supply the Argentinian army with a trio of aircraft adapted for aeromedical evacuation duties.
“The contractor will provide one used Citation 550 Bravo and two 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft modified for aeromedical evacuation,” the US Department of Defense said in a 26 January contract notification. “A two-year sustainment package, consisting of spares, tooling and support equipment will be provided for each aircraft,” it adds, while “pilot and maintainer training will also be provided for Argentine army personnel”.
Work under the award is scheduled to conclude in June 2015, the DoD says.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Fleets database records the Argentinian army as currently operating a fixed-wing fleet of four Fairchild Metro III/IVs, two de Havilland Canada DHC-6s and one Airbus C212.
