The launch of Ariane V137, using a 44P model and scheduled for 11 December, has been cancelled after Alcatel Space requested verifications to be made to the Eurasiasat 1 spacecraft at the Kourou launch site. No details were released and a new launch date has not been scheduled.

Meanwhile, the V138 flight of an Ariane 5 carrying the Astra 2D and GE 8 communications satellites and a Japanese technology payload, LDREX, is set for 20 December. LDREX is a 6m (19.7ft) diameter, half-scale deployable reflector experiment model to validate the design and deployment of the reflector on the Engineering Test Satellite VIII.

The next Ariane launch will be the 12th this year, after eight Ariane 4s and three Ariane 5s.
