Ariane 506 is set to launch the GE-7 and Astra 2B communications satellites. It will be the second Ariane 5 dual-spacecraft launch from Kourou, French Guiana, on 27 July.

Flight V130 will be Arianespace's first mission since April, when it was forced to postpone launches due to problems with satellite payloads.

The 1,940kg (4,260lb) Lockheed Martin-built GE-7 will replace Satcom C1 at 137°W. The Astrium-built Astra 2B had been delayed for the installation of a new set of thrusters following propellant leaks on a similar thruster set on another satellite.
