New routes for ANZ
Air New Zealand (ANZ) has launched a thrice weekly Auckland-Shanghai and a daily Hong Kong-London service. Chief executive Rob Fyfe says the new routes are the first to be added during a period of expansion which will see annual growth of about 5%. One new route under consideration is a beyond service from Shanghai to Europe.
Oasis takes flight
Long-haul start-up carrier Oasis Hong Kong Airlines launched services in late October with a Boeing 747-400 on the Hong Kong-London route. The airline, which describes itself as the first long-haul, low-cost carrier, has reported healthy early bookings despite an embarrassing delay to its launch after Russia refused to let it into its airspace.
