The Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress opened in Hong Kong today to exhibitor registration numbers that organisers say have exceeded expectations.
Organiser Reed Exhibitions, a sister company of Flightglobal, says more than 10,000 trade visitors from 83 countries registered prior to the opening of the event this morning.
Opening the four-day event at AsiaWorld-Expo near Hong Kong International Airport was Hong Kong’s financial secretary, John Tsang.
Reed Exhibitions says advance delegate registrations have exceeded expectations, with the top countries or territories by visitor numbers being China, Singapore, India, Japan, the USA, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan and Macau.
More than 500 companies are exhibiting at the event from more than 20 countries.
This week’s show is the first to be held in Hong Kong, after being moved from Singapore where Asian Aerospace was located for more than 20 years.
The show also encompasses Aircraft Interiors Expo Asia and Air Freight Asia, while on the sidelines is the Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium. A three-day conference programme has been organised by Flight.
