Rockwell Collins (Stand A1011) has announced it is to supply avionics equipment for a total of 33 new Airbus aircraft for China Southern Airlines and Thai Airways.

Both airlines have selected the Rockwell Collins Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) and the Collins WXR-2100 Multiscan Weather Radar as part of the packages.

China Southern Airlines is to fit Rockwell Collins avionics on 21 new A319/A320 and four new A330 aircraft, while Thai Airways will equip three A340-500 and five A340-600 aircraft.

The Rockwell Collins integrated GLU-920 MMR provides the aircraft's primary position, velocity and time reference and provides precision landing functionality. The MMR also offers Instrument Landing System (ILS) capability and satellite-based positioning for future technologies.

Rockwell Collins WXR-2100 weather radar performs automated radar scan patterns with multiple tilt angles.

Other Collins equipment chosen by China Southern includes the ADF-900 automatic direction finder, DME-900 distance measuring equipment, HFS-900 high frequency communication System, CPL-920D digital coupler, VOR-900 VHF omnidirectional range and the VHF-920 very high frequency transceiver.
