South Korean operator Asiana Airlines has contracted Panasonic Avionics to provide its eFX in-flight entertainment (IFE) system for two Airbus A321s.
The first eFX-equipped A321 was scheduled to be delivered to the Seoul-based carrier in November.
Passengers aboard the aircraft will experience the eFX system's entertainment options via 10.6in monitors in business class and 9in monitors in economy class.
Business class seats will also feature premium handsets as well Panasonic's eXport solution for full integration with Apple iPod devices.
Financial terms of the deal between Asiana and Panasonic have not been disclosed.
Asiana has been a customer of Panasonic since 1990. The carrier offers the manufacturer's eX2 IFE system on four Boeing 747-400s, seven Boeing 767-300s and two new Airbus A330-300s.
Asiana has also installed Panasonic's 3000i platform on a raft of Boeing 777-200s and Airbus aA330-300s.
