Singapore Airlines (SIA) has introduced an Auto Ticketing service for sales on its shuttle service to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

SIA says passengers travelling to Kuala Lumpur will be able to purchase tickets at the Auto Ticketing machines using credit cards.

The machines are located near the carrier's shuttle ticket sales counter at Singapore's Changi International Airport.

SIA senior vice president, marketing services, Yap Kim Wah, says the new facility "will allow customers another option to purchase their tickets with minimal waiting time and greater ease".

The carrier says it developed the ticketing system, costing approximately $460,000, in partnership with IBM. The system is able to process transactions in English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil.
