Sparton Corp (booth 3436) has launched a new navigation sensor, the AHRS-8, a micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS)-based system.
The sensor features an individually calibrated system with a tri-axle gyroscope. "We've found it accurate to within one degree route means square," says product manager John Thorson.
The AHRS-8 is in the final verification and validation phase, undergoing field tests with a potential customer. The company hopes to begin delivering AHRS-8s in September.
Sparton is also working on the INS-10, which features a miniature GPS receiver.
"We have in-sensor customer programming. You can walk to every booth here and not find that," says Thorson.
