The region's fastest-growing airline, Qatar Airways, says it will see a significant increase in passenger traffic and cycle counts - good news for suppliers seeking to broaden their customer base in the Middle East.

One such who is benefiting from a deal signed here at the show is Avatar Alliance. It has announced an exclusive aircraft spares consignment contract with the Doha-based carrier.

"It offers both Qatar Airways and Avatar the ability to concentrate on what we do best," says , William J Gardner, president and CEO of Avatar.

"Qatar can concentrate on its excellent customer service and operational strengths and the running of their airline, while Avatar can manage the strategic selling of Qatar's excess spares in a timely and cost-effective method, to its global network of customers."

Avatar Alliance's faith in the Middle East to offer new business opportunities is currently undertaking a formal market survey with a view to setting up a distribution centre in the region.
