AviancaTaca plans to begin flights between Bogota and San Juan in Puerto Rico from 17 July.
The Star Alliance carrier will operate thrice weekly on the route with Airbus A319 aircraft that will seat 120 passengers, comprising 12 in business class and 108 in economy class.
The new flight will allow passengers to connect to Panama City, Caracas, Quito, Guayaquil, Lima, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Santiago and Buenos Aires from Bogota, says AviancaTaca.
It will be the only carrier operating between Bogota and San Juan, schedules in Innovata show. New York-based JetBlue, however, has expressed interest in launching flights between Bogota and San Juan. The low-cost carrier operates a substantial operation in San Juan, and already serves Bogota from Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
