State-owned Azerbaijan Airlines has signed a contract with Airbus for three A319s and an Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ). It will receive its first A319 in the middle of next year. CFM International CFM56-5 engines will power all the aircraft. Azerbaijan Airlines operates Boeing 757s and 727s alongside Russian-built types. It will configure its A319s in a two-class layout, seating between 114 and 122 passengers. The aircraft will be deployed on airline services from Baku to European capitals and destinations in Asia and the Middle East. The carrier will take delivery of the ACJ, on behalf of the Azerbaijan government, at the end of next year. The aircraft will be configured with 55 seats.
