Brazilian low-cost carrier Azul could possibly target Las Vegas and Los Angeles as its next US destinations after it launches its inaugural international service as soon as later this year.
Reports say the airline is studying the two cities as its next two US points after Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and New York John F. Kennedy. An Azul spokesperson tells Flightglobal that the airline's priority is on inaugurating service to the latter three cities.
"Las Vegas and Los Angeles might be on the plans, however," she says. "There is a possibility but it is not confirmed."
Azul plans to begin the flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando by the first quarter of 2015, although it has indicated it could launch the flights as early as this December. "We are working hard to begin these flights in December," says the spokesperson.
The carrier plans to inaugurate service to JFK in mid-2015.
