American Airlines and British Airways, who lead the Oneworld alliance, are preparing for a possible second attempt to gain US anti-trust immunity and European Union clearance for a full commercial partnership. The airlines' chief executives - Don Carty and Rod Eddington respectively - have met with US and European officials to assess whether a new approach is likely to meet with more success. Meanwhile KLM says it is again mulling a possible link with the UK flag carrier. Talks about a full merger of BA and KLM, which failed last year, are apparently not on the agenda.
