Trade union Unite is urging British Airways to drop a new performance management system after cabin crew voted for industrial action short of a strike.
Members of the 8,800-strong union BASSA, part of Unite, were 91% in favour of the action, which will take the form of "non-completion of specific performance management processes". Dates for this have yet to be disclosed.
Unite believes that BA's Dashboard performance management scheme "could lead to unfair job losses in the future".
British Airways says it expects to experience "no inconvenience as a consequence of this ballot result", pointing out the union had made it "clear from the start that it would not take strike action".
The IAG-owned carrier says it remains "open to discussions with our cabin crew and their union representatives about this new system".
