Boeing Business Jets has announced orders for a further five BBJs, taking the orderbook to 102 and exceeding the 100-aircraft mark the Boeing/General Electric joint company set as its year-end target for total sales.

The orderbook comprises 89 BBJs and 13 BBJ 2s, based on the 737-700 and -800 respectively. Private individuals make up 40% of the 69 customers for the aircraft, while 36% are government/heads of state role, 14% are corporate operators and the remaining 10% are charter operators. The operational BBJ fleet now numbers 83.

Boeing has also announced the signing of a service contract with Jet Aviation Singapore. The network of authorised BBJ service centres now includes three in Europe, two in the USA, one in the Middle East and the latest site in Asia.
