A slip of up to one month is expected in the delivery of the first Israeli Aerospace Industries' 767-300ER freighter conversion.
Officials at the government-owned IAI's Bedek division earlier this week said first flight of the prototype 767-300ERBDSF would now take place on 18 October, several weeks later than previously expected. Bedek is teamed with Mitsui as M&B Conversions for the oversight and marketing of the programme.
At the Cargo Facts conference in Seattle in mid-September, Bedek officials had said the prototype aircraft, owned by Portuguese wet-lease carrier Euro Atlantic, would complete first flight by the end of September and receive its supplemental type certificate (STC) by the end of November. IAI is now saying the STC will be complete by year's end.
