Bell and Cessna have broken ground on a new service facility in Singapore's Seletar Aerospace Park that will serve the manufacturers' customers in the Asia-Pacific region. The new facility will replace the Bell supply centre in the eastern part of Singapore.
To be completed in the second quarter of 2012, the centre signals the companies' commitment to its customer base in this part of the world, said Bell's vice-president of finance, customer support and service Donald Brosious.
The facility will offer 48,700m2 (524,200ft2) of hangar, office, storage and maintenance space, said the two Textron-owned companies.
"Serving as the companies' regional sales and service centre for Asia Pacific, the expansion will include full service centres for both Bell and Cessna and will provide a full range of capability, including aircraft sales, technical support, spare parts distribution, maintenance, overhaul, refurbishment, completions and customising, as well as Bell training for both maintenance and flight training," they added.
