Messe Berlin, the organiser of the ILA 98 show, says that it is concentrating on delivering special market access and special topics, rather than competing head-on with general shows such as those at Farnborough and Le Bourget - but that it would still prefer that the three principal European shows were run on a three-year cycle. Next year's ILA will include a maintenance, repair and overhaul event and an unmanned air vehicles (UAV) show - as part of the latter, ILA hopes to stage the first-ever live UAV flying demonstration at a major airshow. ILA 98 will run from 18-24 May, 1998.
